I was seeking an indoor cycling bike for winter/bad weather training.Pros about the bike: I debated getting the Stamina CPS 9200, which has a 29lb flywheel. I'm glad I got this instead because at 40lbs, the CPS 9300's flywheel is just heavy enough for a solid IC workout. The belt drive on this bike is better than chain drive because 1) it's silent, 2) it's very smooth, and 3) it's maintenance free. Chain drive bikes require occasional cleaning and lubrication, which is fine for a road bike in the garage, but not an indoor cycle that sits on my light beige carpet. The large transport wheels are a plus, but not needed on carpet. I'm 5'4"/135lbs and can move this bike very easily in my gym. Finally, the seat is micro-adjustable horizontally, while adjustable in ~3/4" increments vertically. The handlebar is adjustable in ~1/2" increments vertically. Overall, once everything is tightened, the bike is very stable... After doing lots of research I selected this bike because it is belt driven, has a heavy fly wheel and is simple, no-frills. The bike arrived in about five days and was easy to assemble, except for the fact that some parts in the instructions were already assembled on the bike while other parts that were loose were not in the instructions. The bike is solid, pedaling is smooth, and the tension adjustment works well. The seat post sways a little, but the handle bars are very tight and don't move even when I get out of the saddle. The seat is not very comfortable, but I wasn't expecting it to be. It's a heavy bike, but very easy to move with the front wheels. The monitor is ok, but I would have liked to have an rpm readout as it only displays calories, speed, distance and time. I chose this bike because of the following: belt drive instead of a chain (easier to maintain), heavier fly wheel, comes with a monitor so you can track time/distance/calories, and was reasonably priced. The bike came nearly all assembled...it took 25 minutes from opening the box to riding. I am 5' 2" and do not have any problem using this bike. However, it could be an issue for someone shorter than that. I was used to the seat as it is like the one on my road bike so I am comfortable on it. GREAT product for the price!! |
